  • The Slots are assigned to the first place winners in each category who do not already possess an entry to the Xterra World Championships.

  • Should a qualified athlete not be able to compete in the XTERRA World Championship, the invitation will transfer – or “roll down” - to the next qualified person until the position is filled.

  • If the winner chooses not to accept the slot, the roll down continues with the second place, followed by the third place winners.

  • Entry payment for the XTERRA World Championship is ONLINE only at XTERRAPlanet.com.

Road Assistance

Assistance will be provided in the designated CP along the route. They will be provided with water, fruit and sports drinks. Family and friends accompanying the athlete will be allowed to provide assistance as well, in specific places along the competition route.

Medical Team

On-site specialized medical team. Assistance and coordination with Costa Rica’s Red Cross and nearby hospitals All athletes will be provided with basic insurance during the race from the Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS), that is, the National Insurance Institute.

Sustainability Approach

In order to have a successful event, the organization relies as much on their staff as it does on local volunteers and small businesses in hopes of helping the community that has embraced the activity.

The local Chamber of Tourism and many other significant entities support the events in order to bring social, environmental and economic benefits to the area. We have a commitment to both the community and the environment to make our events as sustainable as possible and keep improving our efforts.

Solid-Waste Collection Program

On the day of the event, part of the staff and volunteers will be commissioned to waste collection.

In and around every PC, there will be collection bins with their corresponding biodegradable bag every 100 mts on the Trail Run route.

Afterwards they will proceed with the adequate separation of the material and on Sunday, it will be sent to collection centers for its proper recycling.
There are limited spaces available. Please ensure that you book your space.
